6 Reasons Why I Love Teaching

When I was 16, a fourth year high school student. There was this test that would identify which career path you're gonna be when entering college. As I got the result, there it was saying "you're career path is becoming a teacher". This time, I get to be really upset about it, because I do not want to be a teacher. I wanted anything else but be a teacher. Because a teacher has many things to do, like compute student grades, facing parents or even dating one (kidding about that), responsible for students behavior in school, facing the principal about student behaviors, and writing lesson plans. It's all about students, lessons, and school work. Sheesh! I really wanted to become a nurse but Noooo.
My entire family had to drag me to becoming an educator and so I got what they wanted. I'd always wanted to become a nurse or better yet a fashion designer, or cartoonist. I wanted to doodle. Finally, all my intentions paid off, I had to enroll in an Education department and I what I thought was "Maybe being a teacher is not so bad after all". I took a shot at it. I was then influenced by my Aunt (She's a Sped teacher) that I should be choosing a teacher because it's a simple job and then I was thinking "what's so simple about being a teacher? It's a pain in the ass". My dad had to tease me like "When you become a teacher, you can enjoy lots of stuff, like listing down noisy students and letting them pay for every stick they are noisy and you get to enjoy their money like buying yourself a pair of crayons" or even cigarettes (kidding, I don't smoke). Then my grandmother told me that "J, you'd become a great teacher because you are nice, you can draw which students find it interesting in listening to your lessons, you are smart, you love children and you are very responsible". That gave me a hit in the heart. I then realized that I wanted this profession enough to also make my grandmom proud because she was also an educator in Home Ed.

Okay, so I finaally am an educator student. However, I didn't take it seriously though because of the whole "new-friends-and-party" going on as I entered college. Until from time to time, I finally realized that I love to teach..

Reasons of Why I Love Being a Teacher:

1. Creating Colorful and Fun Atmosphere.
Oh, I just love this decorating thing, I wanted my classroom to be interesting and fun for children to explore and learn. During my internship, I was also caught up with all the colorful classroom setting which is very eye-catching and all the art works of it.

2. Sharing What I  Also Learned.
Well, maybe because it's colorful and very easy to read and I can share this to my students. Reading can be very easy and fun especially to children. You know, with all the pictures and colors in it. Teaching them the ABCs, and other stuffs they would be interested in. Sometimes, children books can engage to games and storytelling. Me? What I did, storytelling. They find it interesting and they can learn something with it.

3. Relationship with Kids.
I just love children, which makes me one. The more I spend time with them the more I look younger (Hahaha. Kidding). Well, I love children and I love to teach them. Sharing what I learned during my days to them makes me a very responsible person, honest and approachable. Well, when I am teaching in a regular class I would never give failing marks to my students that would piss every parents. I know the feeling, that's why I never wanted to see anyone fail when I am teaching. Sharing my experiences to them makes it easy for them to understand. The ability to help them give their best in tests.

4. Novelty
Those who have taught know exactly what I mean here. Teaching is NEVER the same from one day to the next. The constant flux of variables: students present in class, student moods, time of year, time of day, other events in the school, lesson for the day ... make this profession an never-ending kaleidoscope of variety and change.
Being a teacher is not a boring job! Frustrating, yes, sometimes. Difficult. Yes. But boring, no! For someone like me, who loves adventure, you go on many journeys right within the walls of your classroom. Journeys of growth as students grow, you grow, and the class as whole grows.

 5. Summer Vacation
Yes! Two months off every year. How we teachers look forward toApril, counting down the last few days of the school year in anticipation! Even the keenest of teachers, most loving and dedicated, looks forward to a break. And a long, luxurious break we have. Kind of. Many of us still do prep work during the summer, getting ready for the next year. But still ... we don't have to officially "go to work." And that is a pretty sweet deal, no matter how you slice it! So, summer holidays are definitely on the top ten for the best things about being a teacher.
6. The Love
It's an easy job. I just love teaching, not because of the high salary I get, not because of the cute students to get that favoritism thingy, not because of cute people you get to know each year or some of the years, not because of failing the students. But because I appreciate the works of being a teacher (now). It really ain't hard being one but just keeping it real and love your profession as an educator.

It Takes a Man and a Woman (movie commentary)

I just watched a local movie called "It Takes a Man and a Woman", when I heard this movie all that would come up are sex and procrastination and babies and other stuffs couple would dare to do. But we are not here to talk about those unnecessary shit. This movie is all about a simple love story. One thing I like about Philippines movies are the romance and comedy that blends in and make the perfect moment which I find it cute and the "kilig" stuff, also something that would relate to filipino people nowadays. That's pinoy, and it's more fun in the Philippines. Hahaha!
Well, all I couls say is that it is a must watch, must see movie. Starring Sarah Geronimo as Laida and John Lloyd Cruz as Miggy/ Miguel. They are such a cute couple, and they make the perfect romantic comedy couple in modern phillipine love story. They make such outstanding loveteam in terms of romance and comedy being combined with. To start with, Laida went to abroad (NYC) as a staff in a magazine company and Miggy stayed in the Philippines, he is a business man who owns a certain magazine company in Pinas. Uncertain problem came to their relationship, like Miggys father died and Laidas mother caught her father with another (hey! that sort of rhyme there. Okay. Whatever). Miggy needed company and called Laida for to come back to the Phil. Unfortunately, when Laida came back.. she saw Miggy kissing with another girl (Isabelle Daza) and their relationship turned into a break-up which Laida went fleeing back to new york leaving Miggy Mr. Saddy-Pants. Boo-Hoo! A typical pinoy love quarrel. That's all your fault Miggy! Why can't you wait for her to arrive. It was suppose to be a surprise, wasn't it? Okay. Nevermind. Miggy had to propose at a very wrong time.. And you must watch this movie so that you would know what happened next.

*John Lloyd as Miggy. Here I go, his role really suites him. He was such a Mr. Goody-TwoShoes with all the formalitities and then he turned into a bad boy uptight bastard. Oh, Men.. whenever they make mistakes they change for the worst! (Well, not all). Ain't he just a dreamboy? I swore I'd kidnap a guy like him and put him inside a big sack and into the closet :) A surprisingly good guy turned into a slacker after a true love break-up.
John Lloyd. John Lloyd John Lloyd.

But the name "Miguel" suites you way cooler.

Sarah Geronimo as Laida. She's such a pretty little actress and her role suites her fine and nice. Her acting, her KPOP style, her accent, her cute face and..
What's up with the fucking wig?

Did I mention I have a crush on Isabelle Daza. Man, I wanna be a man right now.. Just look at her:

Well, that is all for my movie commentary. Lesson learned? Forgive and forget and get married! Hahaha! except the last two lines.Tada! Bye fans. Enjoy watching :)

Marching March

Boy, I make such ugly titles, but hey! It has gotta do with the whole march thingy which I have got a lot to catch up with. It seems that I have been very busy with the whole march madness thingy and I've been distracted by loads of stuff.. Well, being with the loved ones and people (Seey!). The month really made a blast, which includes the graduation ceremonies from my batch mates and my siblings (oh. it's a shame I wasn't able to march this march) and well, since it's my grand-moms first death anniversary and it was the time to reminisce the memories. My tita got back from NY to visit Lola, though my other tita can't come because she's so busy with babies. Haha! Okay, so the whole thing of my tita's arrival was to visit lola and have fun during her stay in the Philippines. You might be wondering where the hell did my march gone to. Well, here's what you are waiting for:

Neveah's Graduation. Well, Neveah got ahead of me, she just started schooling and yet she graduated so fast. Oh, surely time is a quickie. Hahaha! I'm just so proud of her because she has a medal (With Honor). She is such an outstanding girl with such talents (She got it from me).

With Neveah's teacher. Her teacher looks nice and well, she's very pretty.
 With Mother
 With Kagawad Allan Igot.
"Neveah, where are you looking at?"

Spring View Pool. The area is very crowded because there are a lot of people coming and the weather was pretty hot. Good thing the food we had were delicious. Yum! I had to swim because I had to babysit the kids and watch over them because they might drown (Duh?!) Look how hot we all are. Ain't we such a cool family right?

See? Many people right?

Father's famous kinilaw

Tita Sallys famous veggie salad.
The hottest sisters ever!
Peace out home dogs!

I know, I know.. Dad had to look twice with what I'm wearing right now with this.
I'm not fat, okay?!
You could say that I gained weight (again) Darn!
Skinny dipping

The Beach, XU Marine Station. Now, heading off to the beach.. Since we're finish with the pool. But we only got there to have picture taking and unwinding moments. This is a new beach resort in jasaan and we had to travel there just to take pictures and stuff. Cool right?

Rent a cab for the whole family.

Rebollido Family, and my brother is wearing the name. Oh yeah! :)

Lola Bettys first death anniversary. The very first death anniversary of dear Lola Betty. We had to wake up early to be able to celebrate a whole day for lola. We woke up, about 5am and oh.. It was also Tito Bim's birthday which kinda reminds me that March 30 had to be the most memorable day of Lola. Not only it's Tito Bims birthday but also the death anniversary of Lola.
So, we woke up 5am because we made a manyanita to Tito Bim. Sang songs and greeted him happy birthday. And so on, we prepared breakfast for that morning. like, we had to go to the cemetery and had breakfast their. Maybe the food were some of Lolas favorite dish and all.

That would conclude of what happen. I am still catching up with it. And if you wanna know what I'm doing now? Well, I'm having my summer classes for my last subject which makes me a "Summerian". Goodnight stalkers :)
